E*TRADE – “MONEY OUT THE WAZOO”
This ad was made in the year 2000 and stands seventh in the list of 10 best Superbowl commercials. This ad was humorous as well as categorized under violence. There were two classic commercials that were presented by E trade in the year 2000. Generally dot-com ads are not appreciated but, E trade made the history and this particular commercial was good enough to be made to the list of 10 best Superbowl commercials. This ad was also appreciated due to the catchy phrase such as “Does your husband have insurance?” or “Insurance? He’s got money coming out of the wazoo!” in this commercial a man was rushed to an emergency room for diagnosis and was diagnosed that “money coming out of the wazoo”. It gained so much of appreciation because of the funny and catchy phrases. It was loved by all its viewers. Though, this ad is very humorous but it has also got a tinge of violence too.
On economy terms, E*Trade had to face lot of ups and downs, but at the end of the year it turned out be one of the most viewed and appreciated commercial. It survived till the end and still continues to be telecasted on television currently celebrating its 132nd season. It was first in 2006 that this super bowl commercial gave competitions to other commercials. In 2008, the ad featured the birth of a talking baby and thus, describes the easy way to buy and sell shares. This was two thirty seconds long ad. In 2009, the ad was prepared for thirty seconds and a talking baby was featured describing the features of E trade ad even drops the right venue. It is this point when the commercial ends.
This ad was loved by all its viewers and was for the first time any dot-com ad got so much of appreciation. This ad gave competition to many high profile commercials and also received many awards. This ad still remains fresh and has become a master work in the industry and thus proving out to be number 7th among the 10 best Superbowl commercials.
