The Most Expensive Laptop in the World

The most expensive laptop in the world can be found for sale at Luvaglio. Less than a year ago, Luvaglio, a small and ultra-exclusive store in London, made what is believed to be the first “One Million Dollar Laptop”.  The “One Million Dollar Laptop” (that’s its name!), is a one-of-a-kind. Only one would be made and it would be custom-designed for its purchaser.

When buying a laptop, you might be looking for a large hard drive, lots of RAM, a wide screen, and fast speed. If it looks cool, well then that’s a bonus. A high-end Apple laptop with all the bells and whistles might come in at around $4,000. A top-of-the-line Dell or Toshiba might cost you a little more than that. But, did you ever think someone would pay seven figures for a laptop?

The “One Million Dollar Laptop comes with a 128GB hard drive, almost small by today’s luxury standards, a Blu-Ray optical drive, and a built-in memory stick. The case itself is customizable – wood, leather, or any type of metal – and it comes in a box equally luxurious.

If you’re interested in this machine, you’re out of luck. By going to the Luvaglio website, you will find that even their website is by appointment only. There are photographs of this seemingly pointless use of money on the web, but no detailed descriptions. We don’t know anything about the screen other than it is self-cleaning. We don’t know about screen size or battery life, size of RAM, or even if it’s Windows or Mac compatible.

If $1 million is just a bit too much for you, you can always check out the Tulip E-Go Diamond laptop, which will only set you back $355,000. This computer we know a bit more about – it covered in chrome and leather, white gold plating, and diamonds. Again, however, a small hard drive (160GB) and 2GB of RAM make this nothing more than a very expensive average laptop. The good news is, though, that you don’t need an appointment to view it.

The absolute cheapest of the luxury laptops is the Voodoo Envy. For less than the price of a car ($8,800), you could actually buy a fairly tricked-out laptop. 4GB or RAM, great graphics capability, two 250GB hard drives, and a customizable case almost make this one worth the price. And, it also comes with its own “tattoo”!

For me, though, I’m sticking to my old refurbished Toshiba that I bought for less than $300. It has more RAM and a larger drive than the “One Million Dollar Laptop”. Of course, it is not diamond-encrusted and I didn’t need an appointment to view it, but it’s served me well. The laptop that just gets the job done fast to me is the most valuable but not expensive laptop in the world.
