Furuno Marine GPS Models

Take a look at the GPS systems offered by Furuno:

Model GH-81 GPS Receiver: This receiver is exclusively designed for Handheld Devices. It is a unit with 16 channel parallel GPS receiver enclosing technologies, which enable low power consumption. Further, this elegant model sets new standards for miniaturization. Each of the 16 channels in the device incorporates high-speed search engines, which assists in faster TTFF (Time to First Fix) and it is more compatible than the GH-80 model.

This enhancement can be attributed to newly developed power management algorithm and digital chip devised by Furuno. Moreover, this faster TTFF has been achieved without an increase in power requirements.

During full operation, the receiver starts searching and tracking satellites and then it finds a fixed position. In order to save power, the receiver sleeps which shuts down the maximum number of circuits that is possible. With a unique Intermittent Operation Mode, the system allows sleeping status and full operation status to function cyclically repetitively autonomously. This helps to reduce the power consumption. Just instructing commands to the receiver triggers the Intermittent Operation Mode.

Apart from the Long Term Intermittent Operation Mode, GH-81 also encloses the Short Term Operation Mode that has been recently developed. The Short term differs from Long term only in terms of power management. The new technology helps to reduce the current requirement of current to 1/3 for full operation.

GN-80 GPS Receiver: This minuscule high-performance GPS receiver is the predecessor of the GH-81 with most of the features resembling that of it.

GT-8031 Time Transfer GPS Receiver: If you are looking for a model that is more reliable, however pricey it may be, go for the GT-8031 Time Transfer.  You can completely rely on the efficiency of Time Transfer GPS Receiver of the GT-8031. The integrity of the GT-8031 is also improved owing to its SBAS (WAAS) capability that adds to the conventional T-RAIM (Time-Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitor) function. Moreover, the model also encloses a number of new command sets in addition to PPS output mode, to make the operations easier for you.

So you have an elegant, compact and lightweight GPS receiver that consumes low power and costs less, what better can you do than to check out the line of products by Furuno Marine.
