Ocelot fur is probably one of the most expensive types of fur and it’s not surprising as this is usually sold only on the black market now. The Ocelot is from the cat family and is on the endangered species list. This is another factor in the high prices that the fur of this animal commands. The scientific name of this animal is Leopardus Pardalis and it is usually spotted in its range which is Central and South America to some parts of Southern Texas even.
The ocelot might be of the wild cat family but it is a smaller cat compared to other species. Typical an ocelot would weigh no more than 10 to 20 kilograms so this fur would probably weigh less than a quarter of that. It has a striking coat which is made of black and gold because of which people sometimes confuse it with leopards or jaguars. Ocelot fur has a tawny to reddish brown coat which is marked with black spots and rosettes. The fur is on the shorter side and is lighter underneath. An interesting physical characteristic can be seen on its ears. On the back of each of its ears, there is a single white spot. This is coupled with two black lines which are on either side of its face. The ocelot has a black-banded tail. Read full review
