Coachella Music Festival, Indio, CA - April 25th to 27th
The Coachella Music Festival looks like it is going to be one of the best electronic and alternative festivals this year, with new acts still joining the line-up.
Recently confirmed acts for this mammoth festival include Goldfrapp, the electro-pop stars from England, and the leading, influential, alternative music artist Aphex Twin. And that’s only for starters!
Other huge stars playing include the long lived and much loved Verve, bands such as My Morning Jacket and even Fatboy Slim. The Coachella Music Festival this year seems to have pulled in all the greats, including the incredibly moody sounding Portishead. Portishead are only recently back to playing full sets after a break, so watch out for tracks from their latest album (Third).
From an earlier age, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd will be on stage, performing the Dark Side of the Moon – originally released back in 1973 but still sounding modern and haunting even today.
Bringing things bang up-to-date will be Jack Johnson, the surfing songwriter. Having only just released his fifth studio album, Sleep Through the Static, Coachella Music Festival will be entertained with his laid back take on the world.
Of course, the Raconteurs will be taking things up a notch or two, with their raw mix of electric guitar alternative rock. No time to sleep!
Another incredible band playing at the Coachella Music Festival will be the Seattle indie band Death Cab for Cutie, well used to exciting the crowd at this type of festival. They will be filling the summer air with their mix of rock and indie sounds and are bound to be on top form as they are in the middle of a long run of dates around the US.
The final thing to say about this incredible festival, with close to 100 acts, is that the incredible Kraftwerk are playing! Formed in 1970, they have been influencing bands from all genres ever since, with their catchy mix of synthesizer pop and computerized melodies. With such long standing masters, you can’t miss the Coachella Music Festival.
