CMA Music Festival, Nashville, TN - June 5th to 8th 2008
The CMA Music Festival in the heartland of country music, Nashville, is just what they say it will be – the best in Country Music anywhere!
Over four days we are in for a treat and it seems that the line-up just keeps on growing. Starring for the first time since 1998 is the beautiful singer Faith Hill, back from a break after having her daughter. Her hit album “The Hits” has kept her topping the charts in the US and this should be a night to remember.
Other confirmed stars are Alan Jackson, the vocal duo Sugarland, and Taylor Swift – it should be a great four days of country!
Dwight Yoakam, who has not played at the CMA Music Festival since 1988, is eagerly awaited by country and TV fans alike. With the success of his album “Dwight Sings Buck” behind him, and a string of hits stretching back to 1995, this performance will be one to remember.
Lady Antebellum are playing this year, and the trio will hopefully get the CMA Music Festival swinging with their current single “Love Don’t Live Here” and songs from their long awaited album, rightly called Lady Antebellum. They have already been nominated for the “Top New Group” award at the 2008 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, and it is easy to see why with such a fresh sound combining the best of country with the best of modern influences.
With nightly concerts, and daytime stages too, the intimate outdoor setting will be the perfect place to dance the night away with all the greats from the Country World. The Festival is also great for all the family, with fun-zones and games, hands on activities and a bouncy castle! And for all the die-hard country fans, there are always the “after hours” concerts where you get to hear some of the most magical moments of the whole CMA Music Festival.
