Christian Foundation for Children and Aging - Top Rated Charity
The Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (CFCA) is a top rated charity which was founded in 1981 by two American brothers who had long been missionaries in South America. After their missionary work, they returned to the United States and wanted to continue to help people. Years later, their small organization now sponsors more than 310,000 children, youth and aging people.
Rated as a “Top Rated Charity” by the American Institute of Philanthropy, the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging is known for putting its dollars to good work. Charity Navigator, the foremost charity evaluation organization, has given the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging its 4-star rating, the highest rating awarded, six times.
The mission of the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging is “to walk with the poor and marginalized of the world.” They do this both in literal and figurative terms. In 1996, one of the founders, Bob Hentzen, walked from Kansas City to Guatemala to draw attention to the people of this impoverished nation. Bob now lives as a missionary, in Guatemala, with the people he helped on that long trek.
The Christian Foundation for Children and Aging is “grounded in the Gospel” as a Catholic organization, but works with people of all faiths by providing attention and direct benefits to people so that they may live with dignity and fully participate in their own society. By providing missionary trips which expose Americans to other countries and cultures, the CFCA raises funds and maintains its status as a top rated charity. These trips to Latin America, the Caribbean, India, Africa, and the Philippines are very affordable (starting at only $450) and provide the missionary/sponsor a chance to experience both the exemplary hospitality and the extreme social realities of these countries.
The Christian Foundation for Children and Aging maintains its top rated charity status by using the donated funds wisely, and by utilizing non-monetary forms of donations. By becoming a missionary and travelling through their foundation, the CFCA is aided by both the physical work you may do on your trip as well as the message you bring back to your friends and family in the United States.
Opportunities for individual sponsorship of children, youths, or the aged are available as well as traditional payroll deduction sponsorship. The federal government takes part in this method of donation – if you are a federal employee, you may choose “CFCA” as an option on your payroll deduction form. One-hundred percent of each dollar donated to the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging General Fund is used directly for charitable work.
More importantly, volunteer positions in impoverished regions are always available – a chance for you to directly help those in need. By sharing your faith and experience, you can make a difference in the lives of others.
The Christian Foundation for Children and Aging is an top rated charity organization specializing in faith-based help for children, youths, and the elderly. By sending the message of the Gospel with each and every dollar, and every missionary, the people are helped to live with dignity and achieve their potential in their chosen society through the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.
